Hot tunnel?

Just was out for a ride, and when i was done i noticed that my tunnel was hot. My suspension in the rear was feeling soft so is this heat built up from the friction of the track and the tunnel cause i was bottoming out on bumps??? Is my shock maybe shot and need a rebuild??? Just wanting to get some input... thanks

Your shocks should be rebuilt within the first 1000 miles and then every 2000-3000 miles (depending on riding conditions). You might need to adjust your spring tension as well. The heat under your tunnel is probably your cooling rails/heat exchangers. This is how a liquid sled is cooled. There are 2 aluminum strips that run under your tunnel that act as a cooling device.

On an F7, the outer edges of the running boards are actually tubes that carry coolant. Under the rear portion of the tunnel are heat exchangers. Doubt very, very much if you're feeling heat from the shocks, although you may want to get them serviced if they have never been done. Might want to crank up the spring adjusters to keep from bottoming. Are you a big guy?? Is it a SnoPro (heavier springs & reservoir shocks)?

Re:

Shiver... im about 200 lbs, and i am going to adjust my tension sping tomorrow, i think that is probably the issue, cause i bought the sled from a guy smaller than me. and i never knew the details of the cooling system before the recent responses... so i am going to try and adjust accordingly and see how the sled reacts tomorrow. IM just glad to hear that this isnt something too abnormal that has been going on, b/c i just got this sled over the summer and never ridden it, and so far i havent had one flaw about this sled! it is UNREAL to ride!!! was just concerened about the heat in the tunnel...

thanks!!!

Were you seeing steam coming out from under it after you were done riding?
That's normal as the snow on the heat exchangers melts.
