Low-Mid range bog...
Took the sled out today for a second run, and had a good time, but am finding out more and more about it as I ride it...
Its a 93 ZR 580, and for some reason, when I go to give it the juice, I get thise bog in lower to mid range. If I want to do a climb or something, I have to rev it way high to get into the powerband, and then it really goes. But until then, it has some troubles. Is there a low-range adjustment on these?
Also, the thumb throttle gets kind of tiring after a short while. Is it possible to flip it around so I can use my two fingers like a jetski?
Thats all for now. Thanks guys.

Turn the carb air bleed screw on the carbs out 1 turn from lightly seated. The air bleeds are the small brass screw, kinda diagonal on the side of the carb, not the large one on the side.

First is it EFI? Second what condition are the clutches?
If it's carbed did you really clean them! How is your belt and diflection?

Clutches are in good shape, at least as far as I know they are. Is there a way for me to tell? Belt probably doesn't even have 50 miles on it, and whats deflection?
It is carbed, so I'm thinking it might be an altitude thing, but not sure. When I get some time, I can clean them out and see if that makes a difference...
Anyone have any idea where I can get a shop manual?

Check ebay for manuals, I found one for each of my ac sleds there... also, on my 580 carb, i had to keep turning the air screw in until it was about 1/2 turn out from lightly seated before the bog went away. Try turning in 1/8 or 1/4 at a time on each carb from the 1 turn out that SEG stated; one turn out is kind of a normal starting place.
The big screw (idle screw) on the side lifts the slide to set the idle speed; adjust the air screw first, then the idle screw to put the idle where you want it.
Belt deflection is the distance the belt travels when you push down on it at mid-point between the primary and secondary clutches. If the deflection is too great, you will have bog as well. On my 94 580, deflection is 1 to 1 1/4".
To check deflection, place a straight edge that spans both clutches on top of the drive belt. Use a stiff ruler and push down on the belt enough to remove any belt slack (don't pull the belt into the secondary). Read the amount the belt pushes down on the ruler.
To change the deflection, you have to add or remove washers between the stationary and movable sheaves in the driven clutch. Too much deflection- remove washers. Too little deflection- add washers. If the deflection is 1 to 1 1/4" and the belt is riding about 1/8 outside of the secondary, you should be good to go.

What side of the carbs is this 'diagonal' screw on?

On the right side as you are sitting on the sled. The one closest to the airbox.

There are only 2 screws on the carb. Like RJ said, it's on the right side, near the top and toward the airbox.
