Clueless on 79 Jag 3000 carb

Hello, Newbie here. I am currently stumped by a 79 Jag 3000 with a 340 spirit engine. It starts and idles great. As soon as I think about touching the throttle it bogs down. The sled sat for 2 years before I got it. I drained all fuel from tank. Replaced both inlet and output fuel lines including filter. I replaced the vacumm line from the engine which has good suction and just installed a new fuel pump. I dismantled the carb and blew out every hole and orafice that I could see. The spark is great and I just installed 2 new plugs. Any suggestions out there? I am stumped. I think that my next step will be to find a new carb. Thanks from the OHIO snowbelt. Go Bucks

Plugs getting wet when you pull it over???

Any mouse nests in your air box?

I would assume that the plugs are getting wet. It idles fine. It just bogs down when I touch the throttle. As far as the air box goes, I removed it and cleaned all nuts and twigs before I ever thought of starting it. HMM....!

Actually, did you use any carb cleaner?
You still have a plugged passage somewhere in there.

As RJ said it sounds like a plugged carb. you may want to soak it in a container of carb cleaner. Then do the cleaning all over. Also check the Enrichner(choke) circuit it may not be closing down all the way.

Choke stuck??? When it's idling, flip the choke on. Does it stall the engine, or do nothing?

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I soaked the carb in chem dip for 1/2 hour, blew it out and reinstalled it. I still had the same problem with bogging as soon as I touched the throttle. I talked to a local mechanic and he said to check the switch located at the throttle. I checked it and sure as **** it was stuck and causing the engine to kill the rpms. Everything is running awesome and my son had the time of his life riding around. Thanks again to everyone for their help. We're expecting up to 10 more inches of snow tonight. Yippee.... See ya on the trails..

I have the exact same sled that used to have the exact same problem except it would bog down and if you opened the throttle enough it would rev up. Once I got moving it would run fine. I took apart the carb 3 times and the third time I must have finally got the junk out, I fixed it! Before that I had tried 2 new sets of plugs and that didnt help at all. Hope this helps.
