hey, i ended up buying the 600 efi. seems to run fine. i got it up to about 90 miles an hour and it was climbing very slowly maybe not at all. is this what i should be getting out of the sled and what should i put on to get up to 100 mph plus

the easiest way would be to gear it higher. Unless you just want to be able to say you went 100 mph, I don't know that its necessary. Just drive down a hill with a good wind at your back and you can get it up to 100.

are you serious? I just bought the same sled and was hoping for at least 100+.
Man that sucks. I had a 96 polaris indy 500 that would do 105.
If my cat won't even do 95 I will be upset. not because I really need the speed, but because t is newer and a bigger engine.
This is my first cat, so i hope it wont let me down. I have always been a skidoo / polaris fan, but a buddy talked me into the cat and it was a great deal.
hope it will run like a cheetah!

I had a 2000 zr 600 efi and the needle would make it to p in mph. I don't know exactly how fast that is, but I know it was past 100. Speedometers are known for being off, so maybe yours is too. I have known them to be off in the high direction, but maybe yours is off in the slow direction. Best way to find out is with a radar gun or gps.

real speeds
I did a short 1000 foot, I think, radar run once. Was on ice.
Most of the guys were very disappointed with their speeds. My speedo said way over 100, but radar gun said 92-94-94 for 3 runs. I was 2nd or 3rd fastest overall for the day- faster than the 1000 Thundercats. I was running a 'stock' 900 tcat
with mild porting, shaved heads, custom radar run clutch setup, and taller than stock radar run gears. A true 100mph
on snow is really fast. Usually need a lot of distance to get there with most sleds that are capable of century mark.
Just my guess, but a stock 600 would be borderline for
real world every day 100mph running.

I had a 99 ZL 600 that was Clutched. It would go like Heck out of the whole and it did about 105mph. I think your speedo is either off or you sled it clutched or (geared). What rpms does your clutch engage when you take off???

unless you are racing, telling the difference between 95 and 101 mph is really almost impossible. Its been my experience on street bikes once you reach about 90, its all the same till around 120. On sleds its so hard to tell really how fast your going. If you didn't have the spedo in front of you, you couln't tell i'd guess. Furthermore, your new sled im sure has a much better ride than your old one.

I had my 2000 ZR600EFI clocked around 105-108 flat out with some clutch work in about 3000'. 100+ can be done with good conditions but not much over. Polaris speedos seem to be off more than most with Ski-Doo's being the most accurate up until the Firecat's.

Try slowing down a bit there.....Read my quote.....
"Polaris speedos seem to be off more than most with Ski-Doo's being the most accurate up until the Firecat's."
#1 Legends13 mentioned that his 96 INDY 500 would do 100 or over and crazy_4_cats responded by saying 25 mph off maybe. The first line in my quote states that Polaris speedos are way off.
#2 The next part of my statement explains that Ski-Doo's had the most accurate speedos until Arctic Cat released the Firecat's. I never said anything about your sled or Ski-doo making a Firecat.

Your speed will vary depending on conditions. The best way to get an accurate reading is either with a radar gun or use a GPS.
A 600 will average about 90/95 depending on surface and temp.
My 700 clocked on a warm day on hardpack @110mph using a gps.
