m7 verses m8

my wife has said that I can buy a new sled this yearIm thinking about the 2006 m6 no revers or the 2007 with revers price deferance is notable m6 9999 cd funds
or 12999 cd funds whats a guy do.
is ther a large differnce between the two motors is the m8 that much better or should a guy just take the savings
the m7 has 135 hp I think and the m8 has 140 hp sounds close

I agree with sled head there are a couple easy mods that you could do to match or do better then the 140 hp M8. Pipes and a new Ecu chip can be purchased for WAY less then the 3 grand price difference.

Why wouldn't you buy the 2007 model with reverse? I thought the new models with the Diamond Drive system offer a non mechanical reverse similar to Skidoo and Polaris. Doesn't add any weight or slow it down, works great! I'm 26 and I wouldn't buy a sled without it. Why lug it around if you don't have to?

Save your money and get a 06 crossfire 7. Unless the reverse is something you really really want (like $4000 difference want)

m8 is the only way to go. i mean whens the next time she will let you get another sled. you want something with more than enough power to spin that track. theres gotta be some reason why they stopped making the 700's. i dont know why cuz they beat most 800's, but companies dont stop making thier top selling item unless they got something a lot better in the making.

but if money is an option, the m7 is still wicked sweet. ive ridden an m7 in powder and it more than enough power. i just like the m8 cuz its newer. i would stay away from the crossfire, unless you plan on doing a 50/50 mix of groomed trails and powder.

no I stay away from the groomers and I only weigh 160lb so I think power isnt going to be a problem on the m7
Im looking at a 3000 doller deferance for reverse and act. is working on the dimond drive reverse retro fit so I think the m7 will win this battle

bribed her with another kid she wants a second so we made a small trade sled for sperm I think I win twice here.

the revese on the act adds about 10 pounds bucause its not done with the motor reversing its a seprat gear and a celonoid engagement. Its not like the polaris or the skidoo

The M8 is supposed to have gobs more torque than any of the other sleds you mention. I have an F7 and can say that I am very impressed with it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. I have never ridden any of the other 700 models from AC, but I would have to believe that they are practically the same. If money really isn't an option I would go for M8, but if worst comes to worst, you would be very happy with the M7 also.
