my friend has an 04'-05'? firecat 600. he says that it has an Ethenol switch on it. Does that mean you can run pure Ethenol in the sled insted of gas?

Not E85 (85% Ethanol)! Just the 5-10% blend they often sell at the pump.

My switchback has a premium switch on it. It is for when you are running higher octane fuel you can switch it to advance the timing to get the full use of the higher octane fuel. The only thing is that if you leave it on that setting it will cause motor damage if you run a low octane fuel

Ethanol can be added to both regular &/or premium pump gas....usually in small amounts (5-10%). The FC ethanol switch is used for that particular scenario. AC recommends regular unleaded (87 ROM) for their engines. As I understand, it affects fuel metering (richer) when the switch is activated; does not revise ignition timing.

The switch on my sled does adjust the timing on the sled for the fuel you're running

That's what you mentioned in your previous post! The original question was about an AC Firecat.

yeah, IRS is right - that 'switch' really controls fuel delivery. certainly a lot easier than jetting up a size for running on what they call 'oxygenated' (10% ethanol blend) fuel. has NOTHING to do with octane
