stator rewinding?

Ok, I yanked the stator today. The whole thing is very rusty. Now, where do I send it for testing and possibly rewinding. do they also put new connectors on it? What should I expect to pay? You guys are my ticket to knowledge and I love it. just ask and the answers appear, I love it.

$200 seems rather steep for a coil rewind, i've had Ricky Stator Home page rewind a pair of coils for my bikes for $100 per rewind. They do bikes and ATV's, it cant hurt to see if they'll rewind one for a sled.

OR, you can give these guys a shot:

Stator - Rm Stator - Snowmobiles

The guys over at Acticchat.com swear by Stator Corp. AC's are prone to stator problems, there are some pretty good threads on there on some preventive fixes too...

I have yet to find a business that rewinds stators to be unreliable. Its not hard to rewind them at all, in fact, some businesses sell you kits IF you know what you are doing.

An old question with a new answer. I rewind them for $175 and a 2 year warrenty. Here are a couple of videos I put together on how to test and replace stators:
