try to find a clutch kit, bore it out maybe, or there might be exhausts out there for it...

Again, you're talkin' about a fan motor......not a whole out there for fans if you want to keep it reliable!! Clutch kit usually provides the biggest bang/buck, but kits are usually developed for liquid cooled sleds.
Sorry, not much help!

How much do you weight? Myself I could afford to loose 20-30 lbs. Thats a great way to gain speed and better for your health.

If you get a clutch kit, get one for the closest comparable engine, you won't be disapointed with the results.

I have an '80 Pantera 500 F/C and the closest engine that I could match was the 550 liquid in the Panther. The sled will pull with any stock 500/600 L/C engine in the same sled class. Way better than stock.

The fan cooled motors are much more sluggish than a liquid cooled.Comparison between the two is unreal. I had a 96 cougar 550 liquid that was much faster than a 2001 570 fan I bought a few years later. I bought both sleds brand new.
