So I have a artic cat 440 single carburetor and it will not start, it has spark good compression and it getting fuel (the fuel pump is not working but I'm trying to start it with starting fluid). I am really stumped on this one because the sled won't even fire at all. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Welcome!
Well you basical covered everything , but what are your compression numbers? 110 and under on some sleds wont start!
If that is a free air that might not be bad at all?
Second is timing. If it is getting spark and it still wont fire then the timing could be off?
Next is the condition of the fire, is it a blue crisp spark or a lazy yellow?
Then you say it's getting fuel, is it too much fuel? Much over 20% fuel to air may not fire?
Please give us more details?
Even a pic?

Also, unless the starting fluid you are using contains lubricant, do not use it.
Use some gas oil mix in a squirt can to try to prime the engine.

Just because the fuel is getting to the cab does not mean that it is passing through the jets into the engine.

We do need more info to help you.
Is the engine a fan cooled or free air?
What year is the sled?
Which carb does it have, slide or butterfly throttle [B carb] or tillotson or wahlbro?
As mentioned above, is the spark bright blue or weak yellow?
What is the compression # on both cylinders?

Well the engines oil injector is working so I know it's getting a lubricant and I have primed it so there's oil going in when the crankshaft rotates. I do not know the year because it's my cousins sled and how would I change the timing on a 2 stroke. Do you mean the spark timing? And it's a fan cooled engine with a 34mm round slide carburetor

Use an air compressor to force gas into the carbs. Once you know the carbs are full, it should start and run for about 3-5 minutes on just the gas that is in the float bowls. Keep the pressure up to around 4-5 PSI and it should stay running.

Starting fluid is really not that effective with 2 strokes in my experience and like RJ said, it can damage it.

I got the sled running and yeah starting fluid wasn't working for staring it and once I put the new fuel pump in the sled started but I also found out there was a plug in the exhaust pipe that came out when the sled backfired thanks for all your help
