Suspension Problems

Sled - 00 Zr 500 efi

Ok, My rear suspension is action a bit odd. I purchased this sled about 2 months ago and a 98 z 440 also.

Now, the suspension is set on the 3rd block setting and I weigh 260 lbs. When I am riding it the suspension bottoms out alot and when I get off it dosen't top out, however when I ride the z 440 it never bottoms out and promptly returns to top height when I get off, and it rides at higher level than the zr. The z has 4500 and the z has 2200 miles.

The only way the zr goes back to top out height is when it sits overnight or i pick up the back slightly and it comes back up

Any ideas, could the rear shock be shot?

have you greased the suspension yet? Do the simple and inexpensive things first. Raise the setting for the springs to the highest setting for your weight. If it still does the not return to the top thing, then you can be certain that you need to replace or rebuild the shock.

Smile suspension problems

I have the same sled 2000 zr500. Mine was doing the same thing, and I weigh 245 lbs. I replaced both rear springs and had both rear shocks rebuilt. Sled rides like new and never bottoms out anymore. Start with the springs first and see how that is.
