F7 check engine light

Got done with a good ride on friday night about 100 miles. Didn't start until after dark though. Got up and went to start my 2003 F7 efi and it wouldn't. 10-15 pulls and nothing. Two pulls every time before that. Hold the gas wide open, starts right up. Don't know whats going on. Was thinking fuel problem obviously. I checked wires and switches. Put in new plugs. Wiggled everything I could get my hands on to wiggle. I pulled out the powervalves because its easy and looked down to make sure no obvious internal problems. Antifreeze on the walls of the powervalve. I started it up once more to see if it would run at all. Started good after that and ran fine for about 10 minutes or so until it seemed to get warmed up then the check engine light came on and was blinking. Not a distinct number of blinks though. Just continuous blinking unless it was below about 2500 rpm. But it still seemed to be running fine. Then it came on for good and I shut it down. Anyone have any clue what the deal is. I know smallblock chevy motors but don't deal with snowmobile motors at all. Its not seized, the pistons looked fine when I looked down the powervalves. The antifreeze in the jug isn't low or anything. It had to come from somewhere though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The CEL continuously blinks when the sleds coolant reaches 176*F. This is a prewarning to get off the trail into some loose snow for cooling. The light comes on steady at 200*F.

Basically your sled was beginning to/was overheating. Are you sure it was coolant you viewed on the powervalves?

I am sure that it was coolant. Sweet to the taste and green. I have had it in my mouth before on occasion ad demolition derbies. Not like I ingest the poison everyday though. It seems as though this may have been the case. I think now that it might have a bad head gasket. I don't have any time until the end of the week to check it out. The light only blinked when I revved the motor up and it would seem that if the coolant was truly hot then letting the motor rev down would not cool it that much. Thanks for your input.
