how to know when clutch is going out

93 ext 580 mt cat I had put on my spare belt the other day and all was fine now today when my boy was riding nasty nises coming from clutch side of sled like grinding or slipping sound. checked the belt and the belt that i put on was not the right one so i put the right one that we had here back on. i am still getting that noise from the clutch side what might it be any help please

Track is too loose and slipping on the drive cogs?

Should be able to fit 2 fingers between skid and track with 20 lbs of downforce on center of track. You'll know if it's way loose. Make sure you raise the rear end.

Also - check track alignment. That could cause drive lug noises. Run it on the stand, and let the track coast to a stop. Look from back of sled to be sure it is centered on the skid frame. Adjust the track tensioners to get it centered.

well drive chain and top sproket same thing that is wrong with the prowler go figure

put in new drive shaft bearings when you have it torn down.
