1997 zr440 VS 1994 zr580.
hi,
which one would be better for a ditch, field sled?
which one would have better fuel economy?
better riding range?? how big are the fuel tanks on both of them?
whats the top speed for both? which is better for ecceleration?
suspension? weight?
Also does the zr440 have oil injection?
thnx

is the zr 440 liquid or fan? the 97 will have better suspension. lighter weight. fuel mileage depends on your throttle.

the 440 would have better suspension, lighter weight, same size tank, better milage depending on your riding. alls the 94 580 has on the 97 440 is speed, its gonna be faster. and yes the 440 will have oil injection.

top speed or acceleration?
top speed on the 580 is about 100 or 105, the 440 85 or 90
acceleration, wouldnt be a whole lot better but u noticed it for sure.

install a good clutch kit, set of v-force reeds, some good studs in the track, adjust the carbs properly and the 440 is a heck of a sled to beat in 660 ft. we had one that we ice raced in stock class and it was fast, gotta remember the next year was the start of the 440 snow pro.

I think that the sno pro comes with a stiffer suspension and probably a dial adjust and clickers.

it adjusts the length of the front shock which helps adjusting ski lift. you can adjust it while riding giving you more or less stearing. the 98 sno pro had a different motor with mechanical power valves, not a reliable trail sled imo. the 97 is the same motor they have had for years it is tried and trued.

ok, so the 1997 engine had no powervalve? is there any advantage to having a powervalve? so, between the 1997 and the 1998 it would be better to find a 1997?
would the 1997 and the 1998 have the same power?
So, on the 1997 engine whats the powerband like?

the 97 motor would be better suited for your needs. how much money do you have to spend. in the summer you can usually find a good deal. i picked up a 2000 zrt 600 with 3000miles for $1200 the guy just wanted to get rid of it.
