hey guys new to this site and looking for advice. I got this sled used the other day for cheap. it looks like it may have been in a crash. the hood doesn't seam to line up well and the left side has a huge gap. now I do auto body for a living and I do not see any signs of anything tweeked. could the head of the motor worp it? im new to snow mobiling. any advice on how to fix this or where to look for damage is much appreacted. also looking from the rear of the sled it looks like its got a lil tweek also. is this normal on this sled. like I said I don't see any wringles creases or cracks or broken parts. here are some pictures.
That model has the flat front frame and the only way to test it for sure is to remove the belly pan and engine so that you can check for any kinks in that frame.
Just guessing here from what I can see is that it might have a slight tweak there on the left side.
Not enough to effect ride and handling, but just enough to make the body not fit quite right.
Just adjust the hood! There are 2 bolts (hinge pins) remove them and have someone hold the hood up then look where the bolts can out of. There are 2 small screw that hold the hood pivot. move them both forward a bout 3/8"? CountryCat.com #23 and 24
i see the 2 pivot screws but there are 4 screws that hold the hood to the pivot piece. not sure where those other 2 screws you mentioned are. ill take alook this weekend hopfully
Click on the Country Cat link in my other post and you will see #23 and 24!
The 2 hinge bolts aren't on there but those are what hold the hood and it pivots on them!
