tuning a 81 eltigre motor

i recently did a motor swap on my cougar with a eltigre motor . now that it is rideable i find that it fouls plugs and if u let it ilde it gets all loaded up. i got the air bleads at 1 1/4 turns
and the needles set at the center and then the needles lowest positon with no help. my ? is what size main should i be running and will it make a differnece changing the pipe due to right now i am runing a 500 f/c motor pipe on the l/c motor and the one that came on it is a huge expasion chamber and the one one it now is a smaller tube type thing.

you may need to change the pilot jets. as for the air bleeds, just set them to where it idles the best.
