99 zr 500 no spark

First of all it is a efi..... the stator is putting out juice the coil is good the kill swith is good far as I know... I am wondering is there a way to test the ECU system to see if it is good. There is a small red light on the bottom of it that lights up when you pull the rope so I am assuming that there is power in the box but does that mean it is good?? I bypassed the kill switch...does the EFI have the safety switch in the throttle lever like the carb version? Any other suggestions

my 99'zr 600 had a bad kill switch, it would cut out on bumps which made it very frustrating to ride, took awhile to figure it out. I disconnected it and it was fine. I think maybe the dealership would have some kinda ECU code reader.
