driving along then bogs down

carbs are clean, new plugs. No recent changes to sled. Will be moving along and for no apparent reason the sled just bogs down. Have to feather throttle to get back going. Sled has the dial-a-jets that we got it with. Husband is leary to play with them too much as he blew up his SkiDoo due to incorrect jets.
Any ideas? is not an all the time thing ...intermittmant which makes it hard when I bring it to mechanic, it never happens when he has it.

Now that I see the posts here, it looks like the guy below me here has similar troubles. Will pass that info over to my hub. Sorry for the troubles. ALTHOUGH, mine does not do it out of the hole, I have no troubles at all taking off, it is more mid ride that is happens.....

Start with the simplest thing first. Did it run correctly last season?
1-Gas, new or else drain it and put in fresh stabilized gas. check lines, filters and tank pickup. It could be the pump has a tear too.

2-Air, make sure there are no mouse nests in the silencer etc. Don't ask me how I know.

If it ran right before its usually something simple. Be sure the throttle cable is adjusted, any slack can cause the ignition to cut ot (throttle position sensor thing).

I've been stumped by a similar problem for almost 2 years on my ZL550. Mine would bog at take off, mid throttle, and WOT, but only intermittantly. I'd be flying down a field, and the engine would miss a couple times, I'd fiddle with the throttle, and I'd be going again. Just a little stutter, every once in a while.

I replaced the white washer things on the throttle lever, so I figured it was time to look elsewhere.

After reading so many with similar sounding problems, and most of them coming back to the throttle safety switch, I decided to pull mine apart today. What I found was a broken switch assembly inside. One of the ears designed to hold the switch together was broken off, which left a good size opening in the switch casing. This caused the contacts to not meet properly.

Long story short... I took the switch out, ty-wrapped it together, and put it back in. Some of the guts flew when I was removing it, so all I have now is a kill switch, and a "faster than I have ever seen it" sled!!! It used to bog a little on take off... now it pulls the skis!

Funny thing is - with all the trouble folks have with the switch, the AC parts diagrams do NOT show the switch available separate from the housing. It seems like you have to spend $75 on a housing to get another switch. How screwed up is that?

My sleds tool kit includes a plug to connect into the wiring harness that supposedly bypasses the throttle sensor ("to be used in dire emergencies"). It could be a good diagnostic.

I can't even begin to tell you how excited my husband is to have to get into the throttle switch, but...that is what we are left with here after trying everything else. I think I will bring the video cam and then will edit out the cussing after Thanks for input.

Turn the handlebars full right, and you'll get a better angle to work on it (and won't lose screws as easily).

Mine was about 6 small screws, and it was out. You'll need to pry the red label off the kill switch... they hid a screw under there.

If you want to miss out on taping a good video... there's an easy way to disable it, without pulling anything apart. You just have to get at the 3-pin connector. Throw some heat-shrink tubing over the center connector pin, and shrink it. Put the connector back together, and you're all set. That disables the throttle switch, but leaves the kill switch working!
