XPs are kind of tricky to corner. My brother used to own a couple of PWCs and sometimes I would ride with him.
He had a Polaris SLX 780 and a Polaris SLTX 1050 and no XP could run with either of us.
If you are skilled, the XP is great at carving corners. They basically corner like a crotch rocket.
Polaris made a PWC like the XP, it was called the "Hurricane". I liked it but it wasnt a very popular model because it was difficult to corner. They only made it for a few years and then dropped it.
As far as water in the airbox, doesnt it have spark arresters??? They prevent water from getting into the air intake.
