First thing I would do..........swap plugs if not done in awhile.
Check the point gap inside the distributor. If they are closing up due to wear on the distributor cam follower, it will cause a rough idle. I think for most Chevy marine engines the gap should be .019 with the points at the max opening on the dist cam. Check your rotor & cap for cracks or arcing while you're in there.
I actually had my boat quit on me a couple months back. The dist cam follower wore enough where the point gap went to zero. Luckily, I had the right tools to fix it on the spot to get it running & get my butt back home. Next stop was to buy a new set of points & condensor. Runs great, now!!
