IMO - You are correct, singles are best for low to mid range, which is exactly what twin cylinder motors are designed to excel at. (Especially the Polaris 600/700/800). While multiple pipes are more for top end and high RPM, and will work, they end up stressing the motor in ways that it wasn't designed to handle. Not that it won't work, it's just a better fit to use multiple pipes on triples.

Time after time, I see the SLP's recommended at the #1 single for these motors. Not only to they offer a good product, but they have extensive support on how to jet and clutch your sled for all elevations and temps. Better than almost anyone else.

When I looked into this on the 700 I sold to Gerrett, everyone told me the Polaris factory pipe on the 600/700 motors is the best anyone has been able to make in terms of performance. While anyone can tinker and make any exhaust set up a tiny bit better than the others, the resulting performance change wasn't enough to justify the money. Weight is another issue. That's why I only changed the can on that 700.

Does your 6 have a boost bottle yet ? Best $35 you can spend on any aftermarket item for that sled. The 600/700 motors w/o exhaust valves all had a really rich bottom end. The boost bottle cleaned that out. If you really want to make it run to it's full potential as a stock config (motor, exhaust), add a set of V-Force reeds. They cleaned it up and made the motor really crisp across the whole power band. I did each change that 700 step by step so I could see what each one did. I would spend the money as above, then exhaust.

Have fun !
