sickcivic is on the right track..........get a fiberglass repair kit that includes resin with hardener, & fiberglass mat/cloth. Work from the underside of the hood. Rough up the area around the crack with 60 grit sandpaper; apply some resin with a cheap paintbrush, lay in some mat/cloth (make sure you apply more resin so the mat/cloth is saturated). Repeat so you have about 3-4 layers for added strength.
Should be plenty strong & you won't even need to mess up the paint/decals on the top side.
