the 96 and 98 have different part #'s for the crank (all pieces and assembly) and the case. the origional hopes were to use the 96 crank/case with the 98 top end (cylinders, piston, etc). if the two have the same stroke, using the rods from the 96 would be okay? and if the 96 has lubricated waterpump, using that would be better than the 98 version, just have to make sure to add the line on the sled, cause if i remember right it is an extra external line. am i making sense of this?
