well it is really hard to tell, first you say it is making noise when you accelerate
and now it is making noise when you start it? Which is it? Both? The starter should not make any noise when you accelerate, if so you have some serious problem's. Did you take the cover off the chain case and look at the chain?
How did it look? any sign's of wear? missing teeth or rounded teeth?
Have a look at your driver's as well they may be worn and could be slipping in the track, also check the track when looking under there. could need more tightening or might even need to be replaced.
