Here is the skinny on under 16 or no DL on Ontario
If the operator is under 16 or does not posess a valid ontario drivers licence of any class (yes a motercycle lice is valid) the operator must posess a snowmobile operators lic. This lic can be obtained at the age 12. Up until the operator reaches the age of 16 he or she cannot cross any roadway, nor can they "walk" the snowmobile across the road.
The legislation goes on some more about it but that is the condensed version.
Around here the police will call a tow truck and have the sled impounded and then have a nice talk with your parents and my give you a ticket.
Here is an interesting fact about snowmobile operators licence, you can be charged with any infraction that pertains to the higway traffic act, snowmobile act, or trespass to property act and this will stick with you the rest of your life.
