I am currently doing a quick restore on a 1971 Evinrude Bobcat SS 437. Mostly touch-up stuff. Fuel lines, brake pads, carb clean, plugs. I am also going to install 2" ski spreaders to stable the ride a little bit.I plan to ride it in a "Jalopy Ride" from Twin Lakes to Slades Corners in southeast wisconsin on feb 7th. It is in very good original condition, I paid $50.00 for it 7 1/2 years ago, and it has been sitting in storage since. The biggest work it needs is replacing the seat. I also own a 1973 Norseman, which was readied for summer storage in about 1996, and has been stored (outside tarped) ever since. I bought it the same year as the Bobcat, also for $50.00. It has not been run since '96. Other sleds I own are 1979 Yamaha Enticer, 1980 Yamaha Exciter (parts sled), 2- 1980 Yamaha SRX, 1987 Yamaha Exciter and 2- 1993 Yamaha Exciter II. I see you are also in wisconsin, where? I would like to check out your collection sometime. Do you know where I can get a service manual for the '71 Bobcat SS? I don't know all there is to know about setting the carb, and could use help with that.
