Well my suggestion would be to put studs on your sled if you don't have them and don't tell your buddy you did it. You'll win hands down as long as you race on the hardpack and he doesn't have studs himself.
I can kick Dano's RMK 700 in the butt on the hardpack as long as I have my studded track on my Zr 500... so this would be a good excuse to buy studs and then earn back the money plus some by winning the race.
