Screw Holes in Gas Tanks (96 zrt)

Hi all,

Whats the best way that you've all sealed a hole in your gas tanks? I figured i'd try the gas tank putty fix that you can buy and then maybe fibreglass (bondo) over top of the putty.

The strap that holds the front of the seat cover is missing, guess it broke on the last owner, and they screwed the bottom front corners of the seat cover into the gas tank. Never noticed a leak, but when i pulled the seat, the tunnel stickers fell off under the gas tank corners and there was a stain.

Just looking for the best way ensure a long fix...i'm gonna replace the hanger strap that should be holding the front of the seat cover in place.
