Well the river you just crossed prior to the store is the Titabawassee River. If you go another three miles there is a road on the left (I wanna say its name is River Road, gesh i lived there for 16 years and i cant remember!). Anyways there is a boat launch about a mile in where you can park your truck and trailer, drive down the ramp and you have access to about 16 miles of ice to ride. In fact you could ride back to The Camp, but i cant tell ya how to get there by trails, I wouldnt mind showin ya (when i get my sled registered). I was up there this past weekend, and the ice took a hard hit saturday night, it was all slush and i didnt see any sleds out there. Saturday though, they were out all day, they usually have drag races at Secord Lake Marina on the weekends. Also, If you ride the ice up to Wildwood, you can take Wildwood Road past Three Rivers and hit the Sterling Truck trail and ride over 75 to sterling, you could also ride the dirt bike trails that are south of the sterling truck trail and head down to 61. I have also ridden to Wooden Shoe. Now granted none of these trails or the ice is groomed and you might run into trucks and dirt bikes, but as long as there is good snow it is a good ride. You can get gas at Wildwood, Sterling, and if you cross the bridge on 61 you can get gas in Wooden Shoe. Let me know if you plan on riding that weekend, maybe i can get the wife to let me register the sled. I hope then the DNR wont be out, cuz for 1 ride a year, i would hate to get a trial permit, for trails that the money doesnt even go to.
