I used to rid cat and have never been a fan of polaris since they started the Liberty engines. I now have a 99 skidoo summitx 670. The last time I was out I went to a hill we call fiberglass hill(for good reason) We had 2ft fresh powder and an uncut hill. I ride with some friends who have brand new polaris rmk800 159 and cat m7 162. The rmk high marked annd I matched him and I'm only running 136. The rmk rider jumped on the m8 and could only get within about 40 ft of high mark, same rider remember. The a cat did not impress me and still has not on any ride. I ride with revs also and they impress me more and more every trip. Once you comform to the rev style they are very hard to beat. It's all mountain riding where I am and you can look in the papers and it's loaded with rmks for sale and the revs are the machine of choice. I don't own one cause my old summit x 136 will take me far enough to get into trouble and if I had a rev I know I would push it too far and end up broken or dead, but from serious mt riders here, the rev is the machine this year.
