Pot will never be legalized for one reason and one reason only. You cant tax someone for growing their own. Marijuana is used in the medical profession, or i should say for cancer treatment, and the government taxes on that. If they legalized that drug then they would have years of arguments to legalize more. In order to legalize taxable marijuana all the plants homegrown in the US would need to be taken over or destroyed... IMPOSSIBLE. They thought out many ways to do it but cant. Paying a tax on a certain amount and having proof of ownership is one. Having no more than taxed amount in possesion on persons or home is two. And many more. Say you pay a 1 ounce tax and grew 150 pounds in your basement and sold 1 ounce at a time so you aint caught with more than you've been taxed for on the street, you would make a fortune and the government wont make a dime on anything for the fact it would be legal to have 1 ounce of tax paid weed on you. It will never end and who will you buy from then, the government or the guy down the block in the Mercedes or Cadillac who is cheaper. If you want to get high legally go to Amsterdam like everyone else. Its legal there and sold everywhere in almost every store. Get caught selling to someone or a minor and your either imprisoned for life no questions asked or shot on site, you choose. Taxing makes the world go round and something the government cant get there hands in the pot on, no pun intended, they make illeagal. If you need more info on this subject go to any government site on this subject, not any pot lovers site cause thats already too bias, and get the fact to do the math....My 2 cents.
