You are 100% correct. You don't need to spend $20,000 + to have fun in the snow.
My 94 Vmax 136" track does great in the powder.

Most of the people that spend big bucks on machines, don't use half the potential the machine has to offer. Bottom line just an expensive conversation piece.
I like the 600 twin. Only two pistons to replace. The less parts to replace the better.
If you ride trails, or ditch bang you don't need a sled that does 120mph.

Buy an older sled, you won't feel so bad when you smash it up.
