well first thing is did you brake your belts in correctly? second, are your clutches aligned properly? it sounds to me like you could have either issue, the tops of belts separate due to overheating, if you did not brake it in properly and pounded it too much it could go, as well as if the clutches were mis-aligned the belt will overheat and let loose.
