Did it give any warning,or did it run good right up until it seized? What makes you think the rod is bent? The Phazer is probably the most reliable sled ever made,along with the old enticers(until the 4 strokers came out,but I don't have experiance with them). If its not apart yet,do a leakdown test.Sorry to hear about your luck,2 times in 400 miles plain SUCKS!!!
