stupid things i found wrong on my sled

I would like this topic to be a sticky, in light of the fact people come here for help, which we TRY our best to help out, we cannot troubleshoot every scenario correctly. i want this thread to be posts of people who found problems with their sleds, with out of the ordinary circumstances causing them. case in point
1) the infimous oil cap incident
2) newcatrunner's wires rubbing his driveshaft
3) michaelmatchee's stator wires
4) the dude who cleaned his carbs and left parts washer bristles in the float bowls

my objective here would be to point out that more times than not, parts do not have to be replaced, sleds do not need to go to the dealer to pay someone to look for a problem you may have found by spending a bit of time looking for. and most importantly to get people to properly service and maintain their sleds
