I am a newbie, bought my first sled this summer I have an 88 Exciter. On the weekend took the GF out for a ride and had the misfortune of my throttle sticking on at a high speed, luckily I managed to keep it under control and nurse it home with riding the brakes
When I checked under the hood I found the top had come unscrewed from the carb and the spring and cable were hanging out.....upon rescrewing, it had still continued to stick after restarting.
Is it the cable perhaps a bur or guck on it making it stick or more in the carb area....maybe the slide? Will a WD-40 lube fix it or is something more complex?
What do you guys think I should do? Take it to a shop or try to fix myself? Any suggestions will help thx.
