Is this accurate, or shady?

As some you know, I just got a new sled. And I don't really know much about engine maintinence and such. Well since I got a sled, one of my buddies is looking, and he came across this post on our MTU forum:
"Snowmobile, 1998 MXZ 500 (bored over) Skidoo. Engine needs work. Cyliners need either replacement or to be re-bored. New pistons and other parts available. Cheap fix, and easy weekend project. Chassy in great shape. Asking $700, needs to sell will negotiate pricing. Call for more details."
Does this seem accurate to you guys? Is it really a "weekend project?" I mean with a service manual and a couple of engineers, could we get this done, without too much expirience?

And if anyone has any ballpark pricing on re-boring, and parts that would help too. Prolly going to be taking a look this weekend with him, so we will see...
