Go for it!!! Sounds like a challenge. A new sled is the only way I'd try a trip like that.
You're going to need some decent size saddle bags to carry clothes and supplies! (You can only turn your undies inside-out so many times...)
Gotta be prepared for spending at least one night in the snow, in the unfortunate event of a break-down or adverse weather. I've read horror stories of well-seasoned riders getting buried in unexpected deep snow drifts and/or sudden storms. Just make sure you prepare for the worst. If you bring it and don't need it, great! If you need it, but forgot to bring it... that's bad.
