accessory outlet messed up my warmers

570lx 2005.

There werent any space 2 prong accessory plugs on the handlebars. I unplugged a square connector, 2prog each - running to handwarmers. Plugged my accessory plug in to the ignition (the accessory slot), then it came with a factory 2 piece Yellow/Brown plug so i could insert it between something to splice into the ground (without splicing).

I somehow managed to plug the thumbwarmer into the handwarmer circuit (so when handwarmer switch is on, the thumbwarmer cooks rediculously hot.. burn your finger in 10 secs hot). Then now my thumbwarmer switch controlls the right handwarmer.

so i am going to swap the 2 plugs, but just curious if there was supposed to be another plug somewhere i should be using. The color coding doesnt match, and all im doing is drawing the ground from the hand/thumbwarmer circuits - unless you think thats a bad idea?
