hifax is the material that covers the suspension rails on the bottom. The track clips glide across it. It is also called sliders. It is a wear item, usually at the front; some sleds are more prone to wear of hyfax than others. If you wear it too thin, you end up having to replace the rails. Hyfax is about 15-40 bucks, depending on type; rails are a LOT more expensive.

Good advice to replace before it needs it...
