Junkie, I ride mostly Chautauqua and Cattaragus Co. My family all live around Kennedy area (50 min from Erie). Alot of folks park and ride out of Kennedy. Theres a big parking lot accross from a bar named "The Office"(Great drinks and food). Usually good riding in any direction. Chautauqua Lake is quick and easy but not sure the frozen level this year.
rgoers is right about Catt Co. Suppossedly they have about 480 miles of groomed trails. There a park and ride at the truck stop right off I-86 at the Randolph exit (two exits up from Kennedy). I hit about 100 of em on the Chaut Co border between Randolph and South Dayton.
Right now there are only a couple inches on the ground. And is the reason I'm here and not there this weekend.
Might head up there next weekend if they get snow this week.
Hope this garble helps you out, Cheers, OB
